We are an 84 year old US Company involved in manufacturing of industrial chemicals. We supply products to the paints, coatings, composites, electronics, textile, marine, aerospace and construction industries. We are rapidly growing and seeking talent to help our growth.

We are looking for an R&D/Applications Chemist to join our team at our Skippack, Pennsylvania location where we manufacture modified epoxy resins, epoxy curing agents and specialty products.

You will be working with and trained by our R&D Director and Technical Director, who are recognized as leading experts in the field with a total of 85 years of experience in the industry. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn and be mentored by these industry icons.

Responsibilities

Performing R&D before scale up
Develop products based on the customer applications
Develop processes and production techniques for products
Provide new product development process technology from the R&D lab to the commercial production facilities
Write technical and scientific reports, publications and deliver scientific presentations

Requirements

Masters in Polymer Science, Organic Chemistry or related field, PhD preferred
Experience in Paints, Coatings, Composites preferred
Ability to follow instructions, learn new concepts and think out of the box
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Well-developed time management skills with the ability to multi task

Epoxies, Etc., an ISO 9001:2008 registered company, was founded in 1987 as a formulator of specialty epoxy, urethane, and silicone systems.  As an industry leader, our adhesives, coatings, and potting and encapsulating compounds are widely used in the most demanding aerospace, electronics, and industrial applications.
We are seeking a Silicone Chemist to help expand our product line of RTV Silicones.  This is a product development position that requires a strong knowledge of silicone chemistry.  An understanding of epoxy and urethane chemistry is helpful.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hands on formulating to develop new products
  • Plan and organize technical research projects
  • Work with raw material suppliers to develop understanding of new materials
  • Run analytical tests
  • Provide R & D support to manufacturing, marketing, and sales
  • Communicate with customers by providing technical support and understanding new applications

A degree in chemistry or polymer science/polymer chemistry is required.  Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience developing RTV Silicones.  Knowledge of the requirements of the electronic and aerospace industry is desirable.
